About

Meet Ebony Walden

I’m Ebony Walden — an author, filmmaker, storyteller and global citizen shaped by movement, curiosity, and a deep belief in the power of lived experience.

My work grew out of years of traveling across continents, listening closely, and asking questions about identity, belonging, and what it means to live beyond inherited limits. Along the way, travel became more than movement—it became a mirror, a teacher, and a portal for transformation.

I’ve spent much of my career working across local government, nonprofit and consulting sectors at the intersection of community, culture, and change. I’ve facilitated training and dialogue within institutions, engaged communities across the world, and built spaces for reflection, growth and accountability. Today, I bring that same intention to my writing, films, and speaking work.

I’m also developing the Bold Moves framework, a body of work focused on supporting Black women in making aligned, courageous transitions in life and work.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple question:

What becomes possible when we allow ourselves to live beyond borders—within ourselves, our organizations and abroad?

Global Citizen

I have visited more than fifty countries across six continents and all fifty U.S. states. For me, travel has never been about accumulation—it has been about attention.

I travel to listen. To observe. To witness how culture, history, joy, struggle, and resistance take shape in different landscapes. I am drawn to the ways Black life expresses itself across the diaspora—through food, art, language, ritual, and everyday acts of creativity and survival.

Each place has shaped how I see myself and the world. I carry those experiences into my storytelling, my politics, and my imagination for what is possible.
